Solemnity of All Saints

The month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. The Church commemorates all her faithful children who have departed from this life, but have not yet attained the joys of heaven. St. Paul warns us that we must not be ignorant concerning the dead, nor sorrowful, “even as others who have no hope … For the Lord Himself shall come down from heaven … and the dead who are in Christ shall rise.

Saints Have a Past; Sinners Have a Future

Matthew 5:1-12

Today we honor all the saints. They are our models and heroes in our life as Christians. They give us inspiration and encouragement in our struggle to overcome sins and grow in holiness. The saints were also sinners just like us. But they firmly resolved to turn away from sin and faithfully follow the Lord. If they were able to do it, we also can, by the grace of God.

THANK YOU, LADIES – The Altar Society Ladies really stepped up and helped clean, cut, and otherwise beautify our church grounds.  Thank you again, Ladies. 

ALL SOULS’ DAY (NOV 2) – While it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, it is always a good idea to come to Mass and offer the perfect prayer for our deceased loved ones.  There will be Mass at St. Lucy at 8:30 am and another at St. Francis Xavier at 6:00 pm for those who must work. 

WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION – Dear Parishioners…we are in a time of transition and realize we are repurposing rooms for different activities. Before moving anything into or out of a room in the church building or parish hall, please let Barbara Robicheaux or Debbie Davis know your plans. If it involves the shed, let Ronnie Scott know, and they will check with Deacon Steve. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING without Deacon Steve’s knowledge. Thanks for your cooperation.

CHOIR PRACTICE – All are welcome to join.

BIG CLEAN-UP COMING –  We are in the process of planning a church-wide clean-up day on November 7.  Please keep your calendar open for that day and come have some fun while keeping God’s House (and yard) looking great! Contact the Grounds Coordinator (Ronnie Scott) for more information or if you have any questions. 

SUNDAY ROSARY – We need people to lead the Rosary on Sunday mornings before Mass.  If you can help, please contact Mildred Bolden (228)547-0974 

LADIES ALTAR SOCIETY – We meet every Second Saturday at 11:00 am. Our next meeting will be 11/14.  Bring a dish to share.

LADIES BAKE SALE – The LAS will be holding a bake sale and could use some help gathering items.  If you can donate any of the needed items, please see Angie (601)791-8119 or Diane (601)508-0747.  We need Karo Syrup, eggs, 9” deep-dish pie crusts, brown sugar, white sugar, butter, evaporated milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pecans.  Thank you in advance.

CCD HAS STARTED – Classes will begin at 9:15 sharp.  Please have your child here on time.  You can pick your child up in the parish hall @10:30.  If you have not yet registered your child/children, please see Patricia Howell after Mass

MASS INTENTIONS – A book is on the back table to request Mass Intentions.  Please PRINT the requested information and then place your $10 donation (based on the Mass intention) in an envelope marked “Mass Intention” in the collection basket.  We will publish the intentions of the Mass in the bulletin, and Father Charles will mention the intention in the Mass.  A Mass intention can be for anything good

CLEANING MINISTRY – We need people to help us keep God’s House clean.  If you are interested in helping, please contact or speak to Barbara Robicheaux.  Thank you for considering this ministry. 

**************NO APPOINTMENTS WHILE FATHER IS GONE**************FATHER CHARLES IS AVAILABLE for appointments.  It will be available on Mondays from 10:00 to 12:00 and again from 13:00 to 15:00.  Please call the Clerk (Debbie Davis) at 601-508-8663 to sign up for the schedule.

PLEASE PRAY for Fr. Charles’s safe and successful journey until his return this month.

FLOWERS – We will be accepting flower donations for the front of the altar.  If you would like to have a bouquet placed in memory of (deceased) or in honor of (living) a loved one,  there will be a $25 donation, and an announcement will be placed in the bulletin that week.  Contact Barbara Robicheaux at (228)697-3957

FRIDAYS – Join us at St. Lucy in Lucedale every Friday at 3:00 PM in the church for Holy Hour, Divine Mercy, and the Rosary. Everyone is welcome to attend.

PLEASE PRAY – for our sick and homebound friends, family, and parishioners who are unable to celebrate the liturgy with us.  If you know someone who is homebound and would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact JoAnn Bowie (251-367-6691)

FRASSATI FELLOWSHIP is the Diocese of Biloxi Young Adult Ministry. This is open to any young adult (18-35) in any season of life. If you have any questions, text Marianne at 832-274-5325

ONGOING MINISTRY – Please participate as you are able…Mercy Cross Center is requesting the following donations: Backpacks, men’s clothing and shoes, tents, sleeping bags, sheets and blankets, zippered pouches, new underwear for men and women, socks, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, books, puzzles, playing cards, colors, and coloring books. There is a box in the back of the church for your donations if you would like to bring them here. You can also bring them to the center yourself if you would like. The center is located at 390 Crusaders Drive in Biloxi.  They are not open every day.  Their regular hours are Mon – Thu from noon until 4 pm, and they close early on Fridays.  You can call 228-374-9679 for more information.
